Major Sign and symptoms That Are Related To High Blood Pressure (HBP)

Are There Really Signs And Symptoms Of High Blood Pressure?

High blood pressure usually has no signs or symptoms, and so hypertension has been labeled “the silent killer.” Longstanding high blood pressure can lead to multiple complications including heart attack, kidney disease, or stroke, so the only way to know if you have high blood pressure is to have yours measured.

Some people experience symptoms with their high blood pressure. These symptoms include:

*.Headache- usually, this will last for      several days.

*.Nausea – a sensation of unease and      discomfort in the stomach with an      urge to vomit.

*.Vomiting – less common than just        nausea.

*.Dizziness – Light headedness,                unsteadiness, and vertigo.

*.Blurred ordouble vision (diplopia).

*.Epistaxis – nosebleeds.

*.Palpitations – disagreeable                      sensations of irregular and/or                forceful beating of the heart.

*.Dyspnea – breathlessness, shortness    of breath.

What Causes High Blood Pressure?

For most people, there may be no single cause for their High Blood Pressure. We do not know exactly what causes High Blood Pressure. We do know that your lifestyle can affect your risk of developing it.

There are some factors that increase your risk of developing high blood pressure, which you cannot control. These include:

Age: as you get older, the effects of an unhealthy lifestyle can build up and your blood pressure can increase.

Ethnic origin: people from African-Caribbean and South Asian communities are at greater risk than other people of High Blood Pressure.

Family history: you are at greater risk if other members of your family have had High Blood Pressure.

Temperature: A study that monitored 8,801 participants over the age of 65 found that systolic and diastolic blood pressure values differed significantly across the year and according to the distribution of outdoor temperature. Blood pressure was lower when it got warmer, and rose when it got colder.

Obesity and overweight: Both overweight and obese people are more likely to develop high blood pressure, compared to people of normal weight.

Smoking: Smoking causes the blood vessels to narrow, resulting in higher blood pressure. Smoking also reduces the blood’s oxygen content so the heart has to pump faster in order to compensate, causing a rise in blood pressure.

Alcohol intake: People who drink regularly have higher systolic blood pressure than people who do not, according to researchers. They found that systolic blood pressure levels are about 7 mmHg higher in frequent drinkers than in people who do not drink.

Mental stress: Various studies have offered compelling evidence that mental stress, especially over the long term, can have a serious impact on blood pressure. One study suggested thatthe way that air traffic controllers handle stress can affect whether theyare at risk of developing high blood pressure later in life.

Diabetes: People with diabetes are at a higher risk of developing hypertension. Among patients with type 1 diabetes, high blood sugar is a risk factor for incident hypertension – effective and consistent blood sugar control, with insulin, reduces the long-term risk of developing hypertension.

Psoriasis: A study that followed 78,000 women for 14 years found that having psoriasis was linked to a higher risk of developing high blood pressure and diabetes. Psoriasis is an immune system condition that appears on the skin in the form of thick, red scaly patches.

Pregnancy: Pregnant women have a higher risk of developing hypertension than women of the same age who are not pregnant. It is the most common medical problem encountered during pregnancy, complicating 2% to 3% of all pregnancies.

Tips To Get Your Blood Pressure Down To Normal.

The 2004 British Hypertension Society guidelines proposed lifestyle changes consistent with those outlined by the US National High BP Education Program in 2002 for the primary prevention of hypertension:

*.maintain normal body weight for        adults (e.g.body mass index 20–25        kg/m2)

*.reduce dietary sodium intake to            <100 mmol/ day (<6 g of sodium            chloride or <2.4 g of sodium per            day)

*.engage in regular aerobic physical      activity such as brisk walking (≥30      min per day, most days of the week)

*.limit alcohol consumption to no            more than 3 units/day in men and        no more than 2 units/day in women

*.consume a diet rich in fruit and            vegetables (e.g. at least five portions    per day);

Sometimes there is quite a bit you can do with lifestyle changes, and in some people this may help them to avoid medications.

Showing Kindness This Holiday Season — You Must Give To Get

The value of a man should be seen in what he gives and not in what he is able to receive. “

                         – Albert Einstein

If you want to get more out of life, you must give more to life. No one can truly be rich without enriching the lives others. Billie Holiday said “ God bless the child who’s got his own. But wealth doesn’t mean a thing if it doesn’t translate into opportunities for others.”

When you meet people for the first time always show them kindness, in respectful of their– Gender, Background, Skin color and Religion. One of the deepest cravings of human nature is to be accepted by other people without judgment, Evaluation, or Criticism. When you look at other people and show them kindness and genuine smile, they feel happier about themselves. Their self esteem goes up. They feel more valuable and important. Expression of appreciation— from small nods and smiles all way through to cards, letters and gift can cause them to like themselves. As a result, by Law of Indirect Effort, they will like you more.

The simplest way to express appreciation is to simple say, ” Thank you.” The words ” thank you ” are deeply appreciated in any language, anywhere in the world. Each time you use those words, people brighten up, smile, and feel happy to be in your presence.

Every time you say thank you, it has an almost magical effect on the other person showing the kindness. It makes him feel important and far happier about being in your presence and helping you with anything you need.

Showing Kindness This Holiday season.

With the holiday season upon us, it’s easy to feel pressure that you aren’t spending enough, doing enough or otherwise keeping up with everyone else around you.

“Kindness in giving creates love,” the Chinese philosopher Lao-Tzu once wrote.

Every day we see people in need, both here in your country and elsewhere, and I feel like the spirit of giving is higher now than ever. It is my hope that the gift of giving back is something we’re going to see a lot of this holiday season. From sponsoring an immigrant family escaping a war-torn nation to lending a helping hand at a local soup kitchen, there’s always a way to give back. Some people are even asking for random acts of kindness in form of gifts this year. It’s a perfect way to spread true holiday cheer and a little bit of kindness can go a long way!

“No act of kindness, no matter howsmall, is ever wasted.” Aesop

It can mean the world to someone

Charities are in need of support andhelp throughout the year but even more during the winter when you live in a place like the united States. We are very fortunate to live in a city and to have a good life here, but we need to remember that the holidays can be very difficult for those in need. Even the smallest deed can mean so much.
And I just know we’re going to create memories this holiday season that will last a lifetime. If you want to check in with us as we go, subscribe to TO our blog below.

Why that cup of tea does you more good than you think!

Do you know how beneficial that your must-have cup of morning tea is? According to nutritionists, tea can improve your health. For a happy head for instance, black tea, the kind you will find inside ordinary tea bags, contains an amino acid that helps increase feel-good hormones in the brain such as scrotonin and dopamine. It works by bringing stress hormone levels back to normal while boosting concentration. It also helps combat the symptoms of PMT.

Herbal teas—made from plants—aren’t technically teas, but herbal infusions. However, they still have lots of health benefits.

Lavender is known for its calming, anti-anxiety properties, and echinacea is used to boost the immune system. Tea is a natural source of fluoride whichhelps strengthen tooth enamel. It may also prevent the build-up of plaque on teeth, as long as you don’t add sugar. Black teas have been shown to help reduce blood pressure and lower cholesterol. Studies suggest that drinking three cups of tea a day can help reduce the risk of heart disease.

For curing runny nose, white tea—made from the buds rather than the leaves of the tea plant—has natural antibacterial and antiviral properties.

Koa Tea has a delicious blend with herbs such as lemon verbena, lemon grass and echinacea, which boost the immune system. It’s the perfect light, citrussy antidote to a cold.

For great skin, tea is full of antioxidants called catechins. Three cups of green tea have eight times more antioxidants than one apple. By using loose leaves, you’ll get even higher levels. These antioxidants help fight the signs of ageing, and protect against skin damage. For all-round well being, there is evidence that the catechins in green tea fight cancer calls, reduce the risk of diabetes and protect against brain diseases. Green tea also boosts energy. The catechins in green and oolong teas (oolong is a type of Chinese tea) are believed to speed up metabolism which—combined with a healthy diet and exercise—could help weight loss.
For a bloated tummy, mint helps digestion and soothes the stomach, which is great after a big meal or if you’re feeling queasy.

Latest Research Found Genetic Mutations Has One Of The Causes Of Severe Eczema

READ ALSO: Why Your Body Itch Alway After Taking Your Bath

For more than 17 million people in the United States living with severe eczema – a condition that results in dry, and itchy rashes.

In a study, mutations in a gene known as CARD11 were identified as one underlying cause for severe eczema. Severe eczema can run in families, which suggests a genetic cause.

These CARD11 mutations can prevent T cells  from being able to do their jobs normally. The mutations prevent the cells from taking in enough glutamine, which is needed for T cells to maintain their proper function. This also explain why some patients with severe eczema have a history of pneumonia, warts, and other types of lung and othee skin infections.

While a mutation in the CARD11 gene is only one possible cause for severe eczema, its discovery can influence new therapies. Current treatments, including over-the-counter and prescription pills or creams, focus on bringing down the inflammation and relieving the itching. TRY THIS

Major Health Risk To Aviod When Traveling with Children

Parents traveling overseas with children should know health risks and how to avoid them.

Fly away this Christmas and get $30* off. Book Now!

An estimated 1.9 million American children travel internationally each year, and the number is increasing. In general, children face most of the same health risks as their parents, but the consequences can be more serious. Some conditions can be difficult to recognize in children, especially in those who aren’t talking yet. If you are planning to travel to another country with your kids, be familiar with the risks of travel to help them stay safe and healthy.

Diarrhea is among the most common illnesses experienced by children who are traveling. For infants, the best way to prevent diarrhea is breastfeeding. Older children visiting developing countries should follow basic food and water precautions: eat only food that is cooked and served hot, peel fresh fruits and vegetables or wash them in clean water, and drink only beverages from sealed containers or water that has been boiled or treated. Children should wash their hands or use alcohol-based hand cleaner frequently.
Diarrhea can be serious in infants and small children because of the risk of dehydration. The best treatment for diarrhea in children is to give plenty of fluids; there is usually no need to give medicine. Oral rehydration salts (available online or in stores in most developing countries) may be used to prevent dehydration. Over-the-counter drugs that contain bismuth (Pepto-Bismol and Kaopectate) should not be used in children, and antibiotics are usually reserved for serious cases. A child who appears to be severely dehydrated, or whohas a fever or bloody stools, should get immediate medical attention.

Malaria and Other Diseases

Children who travel to areas where malaria is a risk should take drugs to prevent malaria, just like their parents. A doctor can tell you which malaria medicine is best for your child. Many of these drugs have a bitter taste, but a pharmacist can pulverize the capsules and put the powder in a flavorless gelatin capsule. Because of the risk of overdose, malaria drugs should be stored in childproof containers and kept out of the reach of children.
Malaria drugs are not 100% effective, and other diseases (such as dengue, leishmaniasis, and trypanosomiasis) also are spread by insects, so children (and their parents!) need to avoid bug bites. Children should wear bug spray and long pants and sleeves. Permethrin Adams Plus Flea & Tick Yard Spray (32 fl oz)can be applied to clothes for extra protection. At night, children should sleep in screened, air-conditioned rooms or under a bed net.

Rabies is more common in children than in adults because children are more likely to try to pet strange animals. Children need to be told to stay away from all animals; however, they also need to be assured that if they do get bitten, they won’t get in trouble and should tell an adult immediately. Any animal bite should be washed thoroughly with soap and water and must receive medical attention as soon as possible.

Car crashes are the leading cause of death in children who travel, and drowning is the second-leading cause of death. Children should always ride in age-appropriate car seats when traveling. Parents should plan to bring car seats with them because they may not be available in many countries. Children should be supervised closely and should always wear a life preserver around water.

Routine and Travel Vaccines

If possible, children should complete their routine childhood vaccines on the normal schedule before traveling overseas. However, if they must travel earlier, accelerated schedules are available for many vaccines. Some travel vaccines cannot be given to very young children, so it’s important to check with a travel medicine doctor, who should consult the child’s pediatrician, as early as possible before travel.

What Benefits Can Traveling Give? Part 2

We know certain treats in moderation, such as dark chocolate or red wine, can be good for our health. But could travelling really make you healthier too?

I believe it’s very important to see the world and different cultures. It lets us open our minds to new things and weget to experience life in exiting different ways.

Traveling gives us the opportunity to disconnect from our regular life.

You get to forget your problems/issues for a few weeks, it can also help you figure things out that you would not have understood. We all have crazy schedules, work and a family totake care of, going away alone or withsome friends can give you distance and perhaps even make you realize how important these people are for you. Like the saying says: we never know what we have until we lose it.  When we come back we feel invigorated and we are happy to be back in our day to day routine. It’s a very good stress remover that has a lot more to give than most people are willing to accept.

Traveling increases our knowledge and widens our perspective.

To view new customs, different ways of livingis fantastic for the mind. It gives us a new perspective about life and especially our life, it can help us change some of our habits or even create new ones. When I travel I usually make it a point to try new food, some cultures don’t have fries in their diet and they are all skinny, others use spices to give taste and not oils or fats. Discovering different values and ways to get by in life is really interesting. You also need to visit exotic new places and discover what this wonderful world has to offer.

When traveling with friends or family it creates memories for a lifetime.

These memories will create a bond that nothing can erase no matter what happens with the friendship/relationship. It can also give a new perspective on the relationship and cement the bond forever. It also gives nice stories to tell people afterwards, you can createphoto albums about your trips and when you feel nostalgic you can take an hour of your life and experience the trips again by looking at your pictures.

It’s never been this cheap to travel.

With soaring oil prices the cheap travel era might be coming to an end. However there are still many budget airlines fighting for your dollar right now. With the internet and all the new technology, you can plan your trip exactly the way you want it. You can choose your budget, the duration of the trip and what you want to do. I suggest to read travel blogs and see what others are experiencing, you can save yourself a few hurdles by reading about their trip. If you have some time off I suggest to take that trip and experience what life has to offer. Don’t wait or tell yourself there will be a better time to go. Take the risk, the opportunity and buy your plane ticket right now and leave. When you come back you won’t be sorry that you left, on the contrary you will be thinking of your next trip the second you come back from the airport.

Six Mistakes People Make That Bring About Redness Of The Skin

Anyone with sensitive skin knows the struggles with redness. Women are mostly affected by rosacea more frequently than men because the female skin are more soft and not as hard as that of the male. Skin redness sometimes come and go in most people but in some individual it just seem like an ever endless problem.

There are many reason why most people never seem to get the red out.

Not treating the true cause of your redness.

There are many creams on the market that promise to correct redness but often fail to address the underlying issue. For instance, redness from dry skin needs a completely different treatment than redness from rosacea. Skin can also become red due to symptoms of psoriasis, eczema, or from over exposure to sun or dry weather.

Washing your face with a foaming cleanser. Washing your face in the morning and at night is essential for healthy skin, but using the wrong cleanser can further irritate it, making it more red and inflamed. Many foaming cleansers are formulated with ingredients like sodium lauryl sulfate, sodium laureth sulfate, or ammonium laureth sulfate.

These are surfactants used to cut oil from the skin, but they are particularly harsh and will strip skin of its water and oils, leaving it feeling tight and more irritated.

Always use a sulfate-free cleanser that won’t dry out skin. More specifically, look for cleansers with hydrating and soothing properties, such as those containing Aloe vera. I recommend the Aloe 92% Shower Gel 250ml

Using too many exfoliating products. Moisturizers, scrubs, and astringent toners with glycolic acid are problematic. Overly vigorous exfoliation with these products can also traumatize the superficial blood vessels of the skin and make them more prominent, which is the opposite of what you’re trying to achieve.

You’re stripping your skin instead of protecting it. Rather than exfoliating, start by repairing the barrier. Look for products with skin-repairing ceramides to seal the cracks between skin cells. I recommends Flaneige essential balancing emulsion Facial Lotion PM because it also has the skin-soothing ingredient niacinamide.

Think natural ingredients will work better than medications.  Many of my patients are nervous about using prescription medications or seeking out advice from a dermatologist for their condition because they fear potential chemicals that can burn or further irritate their skin. So they will turn to options they consider safer or more natural, only because they mistakenly believe that what’s safe to eat must be safe to put on their skin, or because they are found readily without a prescription.

Yogurt, honey, tea  tree, milk, et cetera  not only does this practice typically delay improvement in their skin redness, it can even worsen the condition when substances that are considered natural have an inappropriate pH for skin or trigger skin allergies, creating more redness and inflammation.

In reality, redness can be a sign of inflammatory skin conditions, including rosacea or seborrheic dermatitis, and will respond beautifully to medication that has been specially formulated and balanced for these sensitive-skin conditions.

Covering up redness by tanning.

Many patients will try to work on a ‘perfect tan‘ to help mask the appearance of redness. This is the exact opposite of what works best. Lots of facial redness can be attributed to rosacea, which actually flares tremendously with sun exposure not to mention what it does to yourskin cancer risk. “It’s tough to get rid of redness quickly, but adding a daily moisturizer with SPF of 30 or more that doesn’t irritate your skin is a great way to reduce the flaring that comes from sun exposure.

Some things that often trigger rosacea are:

*.Hot or cold temperatures

*.Hot baths

*.Hot or spicy foods or drinks

*.Intense exercise

*.Medicines such as blood pressure        drugs or steroids you put on your        skin.

The Complete Guide For Quitting Smoking

Tobacco use can lead to tobacco/nicotine dependence and serious health problems.Quitting smoking greatly reduces the risk of developing smoking-related diseases.

Tobacco/nicotine dependence is a condition that often requires repeated treatments, but there are helpful treatments and resources for quitting.

Smokers can and do quit smoking. In fact, today there are more former smokers than current smokers.1

Nicotine Dependence

  • Most smokers become addicted to nicotine, a drug that is found naturally in tobacco.
  • More people in the United States are addicted to nicotine than to any other drug. Research suggests that nicotine may be as addictive as heroin, cocaine, or alcohol.
  • Quitting smoking is hard and may require several attempts. People who stop smoking often start again because of withdrawal symptoms, stress, and weight gain.
  • Nicotine withdrawal symptoms may include:
    • Feeling irritable, angry, or anxious
    • Having trouble thinking
    • Craving tobacco products
    • Feeling hungrier than usual

Health Benefits of Quitting

Tobacco smoke contains a deadly mix of more than 7,000 chemicals; hundreds are harmful, and about 70 can cause cancer. Smoking increases the risk for serious health problems, many diseases, and death.

People who stop smoking greatly reduce their risk for disease and early death. Although the health benefits are greater for people who stop at earlier ages, there are benefits at any age. You are never too old to quit.

Stopping smoking is associated with the following health benefits:

  • Lowered risk for lung cancer and many other types of cancer.
  • Reduced risk for heart disease, stroke, and peripheral vascular disease (narrowing of the blood vessels outside your heart).
  • Reduced heart disease risk within 1 to 2 years of quitting.
  • Reduced respiratory symptoms, such as coughing, wheezing, and shortness of breath. While these symptoms may not disappear, they do not continue to progress at the same rate among people who quit compared with those who continue to smoke.
  • Reduced risk of developing some lung diseases (such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, also known as COPD, one of the leading causes of death in the United States).
  • Reduced risk for infertility in women of childbearing age. Women who stop smoking during pregnancy also reduce their risk of having a low birth weight baby.

Smokers’ Attempts to Quit

Among all current U.S. adult cigarette smokers, nearly 7 out of every 10 (68.0%) reported in 2015 that they wanted to quit completely.

  • Since 2002, the number of former smokers has been greater than the number of current smokers.

Percentage of adult daily cigarette smokers who stopped smoking for more than 1 day in 2015 because they were trying to quit:

  • More than 5 out of 10 (55.4%) of all adult smokers
  • Nearly 7 out of 10 (66.7%) smokers aged 18–24 years
  • Nearly 6 out of 10 (59.8%) smokers aged 25–44 years
  • More than 4 out of 10 (49.6%)smokers aged 45–64 years
  • About 4 out of 10 (47.2%) smokers aged 65 years or older

Percentage of high school cigarette smokers who tried to stop smoking in the past 12 months:

  • More than 4 out of 10 (45.5%) of all high school students who smoke

Ways to Quit Smoking

Most former smokers quit without using one of the treatments that scientific research has shown can work. However, the following treatments are proven to be effective for smokers who want help to quit:

  • Brief help by a doctor (such as when a doctor takes 10 minutes or less to give a patient advice and assistance about quitting)
  • Individual, group, or telephone counseling6
  • Behavioral therapies (such as training in problem solving)6
  • Treatments with more person-to-person contact and more intensity (such as more or longer counseling sessions)6
  • Programs to deliver treatments using mobile phones12

Medications for quitting that have been found to be effective include the following:

  • Nicotine replacement products
  • Over-the-counter (nicotine patch [which is also available by prescription], gum, lozenge)
    • Prescription (nicotine patch, inhaler, nasal spray)
  • Prescription non-nicotine medications: bupropion SR (Zyban®),6 varenicline tartrate (Chantix®)
  • EQ_EN_728x91_Banner_1

Counseling and medication are both effective for treating tobacco dependence, and using them together is more effective than using either one alone.6

  • More information is needed about quitting for people who smoke cigarettes and also use other types of tobacco.1

Do You Suffer From Memory Loss Sometimes: Here Is A Solution For You

    How to Improve Your Memory

Those first signs of slipping memory can be a little alarming – especially if you know the dreariness of that route. You may first see it in your 40s, or even younger, with memory loss symptoms like slower facial recall or where you left your keys.

What groceries were you supposed to buy? Wait – you forgot your grocery list at home.

While it’s normal to forget things on occasion, it’s a pattern to watch. The makers of Brain Pill natural memory supplement believe it’s important to keep your brain active. Challenge your memory – just like a muscle, give your brain a good workout daily with these memory-boosting tips courtesy of Brain Pill:

Use Your Memory Daily – Your brain needs a workout just like the rest of you. It’s a case of ‘use it or lose it’, so use your brain every day. Try crosswords, for example, or read a section of the newspaper you’d normally skip. You might also take a different route to work, for example, or learn another language or how to play a musical instrument.

See Your Friends – You’re not an island, dude. Depression and stress can both lead to memory loss, which is why you’ll want to socialize often – especially if you live alone. Be with others and take them up on their invitations. Life gets better when you do.

Organize Your Life! – You lose points with a cluttered home because you’re more likely to forget stuff. So make lists and notes of appointments and things to do in a special notebook or on your calendar. Heck, download an app on your iPod and write down what needs to get done. Speak it out loud too, to reinforce it in your memory, and check-off your tasks when completed.

While we’re on the subject, try to stay focused on the task at hand and limit distractions. You’re more likely to recall information if you concentrate specifically on that rather than multi-tasking. Put another way, focus on what you want to remember later and you’re in better shape to remember it quickly.

Sleep Well – Shut-eye helps your memory. Most adults need seven to eight hours of sleep each night. So make time for adequate rest – go to bed earlier if you have to and work on your sleep hygiene. Your memory will thank you when you try to remember stuff the next day.

Eat Healthy – Do you see a pattern here? Your memory likes healthy living. That extends to your diet, with plenty of fruits, vegetables and whole grains. Opt for low-fat protein, like fish and skinless poultry. Drink plenty of water too, and watch the alcohol intake.

Exercise Daily – This boosts blood flow throughout your body. That includes your noggin. Aim for at least 150 minutes of moderate aerobic activity (like walking) each week, says the Department of Health and Human Services, or 75 minutes of something with greater intensity, like jogging, though even a few 10 minute brisk walks per day will suffice in a pinch.

Stay in Touch With Your Doctor – Chronic conditions can affect your memory, to say nothing about the rest of your health. So follow your doctor’s recommendations, be it for depression, your kidneys or anything else in your medical history. Review your medications often with your doctor as well – some medications can reduce your memory.
